CONNECTIONS FACT SHEET

Do you have a disability?

Are you between the ages of 18-64?

Would you like to travel by Port Authority, but bus service

is not available?

ACCESS Connections is your ride!

How do you qualify for ACCESS Connections?

Anyone with a disability aged 18-64 is eligible for the service. The application form is short and

there is no requirement to appear in person. A completed application, verification of a disability

and proof of age are required.

How does ACCESS Connections work?

You can travel for any purpose. The service operates seven days per week throughout

Allegheny County between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m.

This service will:

•

Provide you with a ride to get to a Port Authority bus stop or the T to get to and from

where you are going

•

Provide you with personal assistance in planning your entire trip

•

Take you on ACCESS to or from the closest, usable bus stop, if the bus stop is more

than ¾ mile from your home or destination. This works just like a park and ride.

Provide a direct ACCESS ride from your origin to your destination if the trip on the bus

is less than five (5) miles and would take you more than ninety (90) minutes, if there is

no bus service at all, or if there is no bus service within an hour of the time you need to

travel.

You will have your own personal travel navigator at ACCESS who will help you plan your trips.

She will assist you in determining the best Port Authority bus routes to use for your trip,

deciding which bus stop to use, and scheduling the ACCESS trip to get you to and from the

bus stop or directly to your destination.
